The complexity of projects is constantly increasing. The requirements for quality and decreasing turnaround time for project planning and construction / development are constantly increasing. Project management is therefore required.
In the execution of the technical projects the essential factors include the optimization of the requirements, costs, resources and schedules. Critical for the profitability of a project is the optimum interplay of all these parameters.
At the start of the project, calculations and the requirement specifications are in the foreground, followed by dates, costs and distribution of tasks. An ongoing cost, schedule and resource control is obligatory to achieve optimal execution with minimal modification costs.
With this module the entire course of the project is online, transparent, traceable. This provides a permanent current overview of costs and deadlines. This ensures that the profitability of a project is not lost during its execution.
The elements of the Module
At the beginning of projects or changes, there is the exact requirement in the form of specifications and specifications or contract documents. The permanent TARGET/ACTUAL comparison ensures that costs and deadlines can be readjusted at a very early stage and that the subsequent change costs do not get out of hand. The requirements can be recorded in any number of language versions and form the basis for communication in international projects. Reports for functional and requirement specifications provide perfect documentation of requirements for the project. When specifying the requirements, specify by whom and by when they must be completed. The status tracking gives you an overview of the implementation of the requirements at all times.
Divide your project into manageable work packages. The detailed tasks are defined for the individual work packages. The responsible and involved employees, required resources and duration are specified for a task. The costs are calculated from the stored hourly rates and surcharges for various expenses.
End dates are determined via duration and start date. The dates themselves are extrapolated via the work packages up to the project, project milestones as fixed points round off the scheduling. Should the schedule change, revisions are available in the form of baselines.
In the past, the costs alone were the decisive criterion for a project, but now the time and quality aspects are becoming increasingly important. With AXAVIApm you always have an overview of your deadlines, costs and resources. The permanent monitoring of tasks between TARGET and ACTUAL situation is one of the essential tasks of the project manager. The employee records his actual hourly expenditure as part of his time recording and posts his hours to the corresponding work package. The project owner evaluates the progress by recording the residual value or the completed part. AXAVIApm determines the delay and passes the status on to the project manager. As soon as a task is out of plan, this is reported immediately. So you always have the certainty that no more time deviations are lost. In addition to project progress, cost control is of course an essential part of project monitoring. All costs from the entered hours are booked via the corresponding hourly rate in the work package. If additional costs such as travel expenses or expenses are posted to the project, the project manager can also keep an eye on them online. In combination with the information on the booked costs, you have a complete cost history in the form of a cash flow analysis. If you use the AXAVIAseries module for procurement, the actual data is also taken from the invoices.
The tasks are assigned to the appropriate resources. The permanent capacity comparison gives you the basis for your optimal resource planning and unforeseen bottlenecks are better managed. In interaction with the working time models, the effort and duration of the planned tasks are determined. Freely available resources are shown as well as resource overloads. Employee qualifications are also taken into account when assigning tasks.
